Who am I?

My name is Desirae Henry. I have been a K-2 teacher for the last 6 years, but I have been an educator for nearly a decade. I have always dedicated myself to my students and that has allowed me to create a very effective teaching practice.

Over 125 students have come through my doors and left even more curious than when they came in. I’m proud that I helped these students reach their academic goals, but I’m even prouder of the fact that they left life-long learners.

I do not believe that teaching is about forcing children to memorize facts to pass a test. Teaching is the practice of encouraging critical thinking skills, curiosity and creativity in problem solving.

These are the keys to success in the classroom and in life.
